Do you want to publish your book on Smashwords.com?
I can Help.
The publishing world is different today. So many print publishers have closed down with the onslaught of the computer and the internet. New devices that download digital books have hit the market in a storm. The reality is if you are not already famous, grandly connected, or a media sensation your book will probably not be read by an editor – never mind published. Publishers will not take a chance on a book without an already following – with the economy and the uncertainty who can blame them. The reality of a new publishing paradigm was revealed to me in my quest for a publisher – eBooks will overtake print books in the marketplace and its time for serious writers to take advantage of this reality.
My Novel 'The Elms Chronicles' received 22 rejection slips – in itself not a bad thing. I spent two years editing and rewriting – and I decided to publish myself. Vanity publishers looked like a big money hole with no guarantee that I wouldn't end up with an attic full of unsold books. I opted to make it an eBook and do it myself. I looked over all the sites and decided on http://Smashwords.com.
As a writer you think your book is the next phenom – and it just may well be and if it is shouldn't it be read.. But here is the rub, most writers are terrible editors. They have little understanding of formatting and design – and no understanding of the conversion programs like Smashword's Meat Grinder.
I thought my manuscript was finished – then I started the process of publishing my first book ‘Sozzel The Jongleur Halloween Tales’ a collection of poetry and short stories. I had hoped to get it published a month prior to Halloween last year. I got it published a couple days before. (Lousy marketing that!) I had over 40 hours of editing and reformatting in the 100 page book – and a humbling understanding that I am a better writer than I am an editor.. So much of what stops an author from creating their own eBooks is what I had gone through – most would just throw their hands in the air and let out a dismissive expletive and return happily to their daytime job.
I will soon have six eBooks published and all available at Barns & Noble, Smashwords and in most eBook sales sites. The last book took 3 hours to edit and format for all downloadable pads, readers, and smart phones.
Now publishing an eBookdoes not equate to making any money. That work is just beginning. I of course realized that I have to do most of the marketing on my books myself, if I am to make a living being a writer. I am on that track and look forward to what comes.
Here is the thing – I am available to help any writer who is serious about getting their work published through Smashwords.com
I can act as a coach to get your book ready for just $35 per ½ hour on Skype.com, or take your digital edited manuscript – format it – and publish it for you in your name. I don't want your rights. That fee will be dependent on the readiness of the manuscript. Better prepared – less hours!!!
